Photo pick of the week #7 – Eyes in focus
It was a quiet Sunday afternoon at the park, my son and I were watching the paddle boats on the river when I started taking candid pictures of him from a distance. I used my 70-200 mm lens at f2.8 to create a very shallow depth of field in order to keep just the eyes in focus. I played around with Lightroom and created this low contrast B&W image. I like a close crop when photographing children, that’s why I love that lens so much, I can get really close without invading their space. The more I look at it, the more I like the result! It conveys both the beauty and innocence of childhood… and the inquisitive mind of my 12 year old!
