Winter Solstice
Today is the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and I decided to celebrate by taking a walk in the woods while the snow was starting to fall again. Here are a couple of images I captured with my new Lensbaby Composer lens. Now it really looks like someone shook the snow globe! Happy first day of Winter, or Summer if you live in the Southern Hemisphere!
Thank you for the nice comments everyone! I appreciate the support. I am having a lot of fun trying out this new gear and sharing the results with you all!

This is one of my favorite days of the year as the days start to get longer and with hope I know that spring is on it’s way.
I love the effect of the lens, it reminds me of my days in the dark room making this effect on blk and wt photography while swirling a hoop. Let’s just say the lens is easier the effects are grand.

Very nice Valerie. It looks like you have figured out how to get the sweet spot sharp. Not to be a grump but the as far as days getting longer, they also will get colder! brrr 🙂

Superbe!!

I like the effects, Valerie. Reminds me of the days of shooting with a large format camera and putting the tilts and shifts to work to get a similar effect.

I like the compositions but I’m not crazy about this lens. For me, it’s hard on the eyes with the blurred edges and sharp middle.

Thank you Kate! I understand that the creative effects lens is not for everyone. It is not meant to replace any lens in the photographer’s gear bag, just a really nice addition for days when you need a little boost to get out there and shoot… Like 5 months of snow for example 😉
