Normandy Photo Workshops By Valerie Jardin Photography
Normandy Photo Workshop ~ France
A photographic adventure designed and led by Valérie Jardin
May 12-18 & October 5-11 2013
Normandy! The cream of France, with rich history, stunning architectural masterpieces, fine cuisine, and breathtaking sea and landscapes. From William the Conqueror to the D-Day landings of WWII, Normandy has seen it all, and so will you.
Your adventure begins in the seaside town of Honfleur, where you will enjoy beautiful early morning and late evening strolls down narrow paved streets overshadowed by timber-framed houses. Then it is on to La Belle Vie and a beautiful 18th Century French Chateau for three nights. While there, you will wander through the charming town of Bayeux and visit the D-Day landing areas with a local guide, which will be an unforgettable and moving experience.
The adventure continues with an overnight visit to the island of Mont Saint Michel, which will take you back as early as the 8th Century, regaling you with stunning and unique photo opportunities. From there it is on to the city of Caen, which was founded by William, Duke of Normandy and King of England. The castle, built in 1060, is one of the largest medieval enclosures in Europe.
You will leave this adventure with memories you will cherish for a lifetime, having made new friends who share your passion. Your newly learned photographic techniques will empower you with a camera and your confidence as a photographer will soar!
This week long photographic adventure includes:
– 6 nights in exclusive accommodations.
– All breakfasts and gourmet dinners.
– All transfers between hotels, with a private chartered bus company.
– A one day tour of key D-Day landing areas with a local bilingual guide, including chartered transportation with access to private land for unique photo opportunities.

Cost: $3,175 US dollars. Go to REGISTRATION FORM.
Traveling with a non-photographer? No problem! Accompanying non-photographer package also available on a first come, first served basis.

Rouen is a great place to be based for your other Norman adventures. With its stately spires soaring above the city, the beautiful Gothic cathedral at Rouen (a favorite subject of Monet, who did a series of painting of the cathedral) is enough in and of itself to warrant a visit to this Norman city. However, Rouen’s beautifully restored Medieval quarter is a living museum of Normandy-style architecture.

Valerie, I have been a member of the Photowalk Facebook group for a while. My niece signed me up a while ago, but it has been ages since I’ve gotten onto Facebook. I am following the group now and hope to join you all on one of your Photowalks soon. I greatly admire your work and I would love to go to Normandy with you. Not sure I can get that much money together by then, but in January I will sign up for your local class in June. Hopefully that will give me a taste of what may be in store across the ocean.
Cheers & Happy New Year Terry Butler Hudson, Wisconsin
