Love them all! My favourite is the first one with the signs! The guy doesn’t look scary, but hey if you park there look out 🙂 NY would have to be one of the best cities in the world for people watching.

I love your eye Valerie. Can’t wait to join you in Normandy in September and learn from you. So excited.

Great shots Valerie. Just wondering though, how you set up for white balance in your street photography adventures. I know you probably shot these in raw format, and shooting for fine art, but with WB in auto or do you change with each surroundings?

Yes, I see the impact b&w makes. A very rich slice of NYC life. Amazing!

Very good collection. I’m pretty sure you covered this before, but when you take shots where the subject knows you do, you engage them, don’t you? Do you give them a business card and/or monitary token. Do you bother getting a release from one and all?
Thank you.

Thanks Hugh! I do interact when it’s a street portrait (the 3 guys with the Dean & Deluca shirts), often I give my card. If the subject sees me but there was no interaction prior to taking the photo, then usually there is no interaction after unless they come to me and ask why I took their picture.
No need for a release as I only shoot for fine art and editorial purposes. Would you sign a release if someone asked you in the streets?
