J’aime Paris en noir et blanc
Bonjour!
I’ve been so extremely busy since my trip to Paris last month, that I never found the time to post pics on the blog. I missed the interaction with my blog followers 🙂 I’m back!
Here are a few stolen moments from the streets of Paris this Fall…
Which do you prefer?
All photographs made with the Fujifilm X100F in Acros
Love that 3rd shot, that’s just fantastic

I’ll have to choose 2 because I simply cannot decide…The first one (such a fantastic perspective), and the little girl on roller skates. I just love both!

Thanks for stopping by Lisa! That little girl was definitely a gift for the photographer looking to capture timeless Paris 🙂

The third one, although the contrast of that Acros simulation might be a bit too strong, leaving your main subject too dark with the risk of blowing out the background.

Thanks Wolfgang. Interesting because actually I like my shadows to be deep and I don’t mind blown-out highlights, especially in silhouette or semi-silhouette situations. In street photography, what’s behind the subject can be just as distracting as what’s in front of it. I don’t believe that street photography should even aim at perfection, life on the streets is not perfect and it’s often the imperfections that make the photograph special. This is a snapshot taken through a tinted window from a dark room looking into the bright mid-day light, any processing would look very unnatural in my opinion. As I always tell my students “It’s not because you can bring details out of the shadows that you should. If too often breaks the mood of the photograph.” My two cents 😉 Thanks for stopping, please visit again!

The spirit of Paris, a beautiful serie. My favorites are the little girl with the roller skate, the petanque player (what a great composition!) and the blurry dancers…

As always, simple beautifully captured moments! I was able to visit Paris for the first time ever this month. This time last week (give or take 9 hours) I was in the Jardin du Palais Royal people watching and capturing moments. The experience has given me greater appreciation for what you give us.

When I see street photography like yours, I always say I should try it. Not that I think just anyone can do it. Well, they can, I guess. But not as well as you. I love so many of these. But I think my favorite is the silhouette! I think! 🙂

Thank you! You should try! It is definitely the most difficult genre of photography, but so rewarding in so many ways…
