  1. Congratulations on a wonderful year of street photography, much of which I would assume was snuck in-between teaching duties.

    I noticed the use of a white/black border combination. This would be more than you usually do, which would see you posting them edge to edge, or with a single border. A necessity or creative choice?

    Do you crop many / any of these photographs. The composition is so consistently perfect!

      The border is made in the slideshow function in LR. Still experimenting but I quite like it.
      I try to consistently ‘crop in camera’ but I do tweak in post when necessary. I think it’s important not to press the shutter with the cropping tool in mind but rather to compose as if it wasn’t even available. It’s all part of shooting with more intent.

      • Thanks, Valerie, for the insights into your work practices. I’m glad to read that you attempt to compose in-camera, but are pragmatic enough to crop in post when necessary. I think that this is a very sensible approach.
